User Submitted Wee Sing America (Wee Sing) ReviewsOctober 6, 2008 Patriotism for kids I am schooling at home and needed the patriotic songs and it's easy for kids to relate to other kids singing. I have enjoyed hearing favorites from when i was young. Wee Sing always does a great job. September 21, 2008 Great way to learn patriotic songs! All the patriotic songs of old that I learned as a child are on here! I loved having the song book so that we can easily sing along with each song and even play on the piano. The famous quote inbetween each song has been an awesome learning tool. My kids have learned so much about history from the quotes and songs. After listening to the songs of the Confederate Army and of the Union Army, my kids (ages 7 and 10) were so interested in what the story between the two songs. Unlike a lot of the kids' CDs out there, I actually enjoy listening to the CD also. September 9, 2008 Wee Sing America One of the best ways that I have found to teach little ones how to grow a love for their country and have fun doing it. Full of short but famous speeches from our rich American history and songs to sing and dance to. July 10, 2008 Wee Sing America Having been introduced to this product in the 1908s, it was a pleasure to find it so readily on CD this Spring. The shipment arrived in prompt fashion, and the CD was in pristine condition. May 25, 2008 I love this! This is a wonderful book and CD. My 4 year old LOVES this so much. He listens to it constantly. It is his favorite Wee Sing CD so far. We have lots of them and are always pleased! March 4, 2008 I'm on my 3rd cd! I love this cd! I first heard it years ago when I was a student teacher in an elementary school. A different song from this cd (tape, back then!) was used as part of the morning announcements. When I became a teacher myself, I used the tape as part of my class morning routine, and in no time my students were singing along to the Star Spangled Banner and singing the names of all 50 United States. I love how kids are used to to sing the songs. The tape eventually gave up, and I somehow lost the second copy (a cd!) so I recently bought this book and cd set for my own children to listen to. Still as wonderful as ever, except this time I noticed they made some changes and added and removed some things to make it a little more politically correct. Just to clarify, I put off buying this for a while because this is listed as a book, but it's actually a book AND cd set, so the kids can sing along with the songs and learn the words rather quickly. January 18, 2008 We Need This This is a great cd to teach about history. My husband used it when he taught elementary school and really love it. June 30, 2007 Memories from MY childhood! This Cd is GREAT for kids...as is the whole Wee Sing Series. I originally owned this on tape a child and would listen to it for hours on end. Before I even got to Kindergarten I knew everything from the pledge of allegiance to the preamble to the constitution. I managed to surprised many teachers over the years with things I memorized off this cd. Although it isn't necessarily an instructional cd it will teach your children (and probably you!) many historical songs and quotations. Many are patriotic but others are just classic "folk" songs. This cd is money well spent and I highly recomend it. February 10, 2007 All Primary Teachers Should Have This Song Collection! I have used the Wee Sing America songs in my 2nd Grade Classroom for over 15 years. I've had to purchase this collection several times because I have literally worn it out. I use this collection for our morning openings right after the flag salute as well as singing performances for parent shows. My former students (now high school graduates) come back to visit me and always tell me they can still remember all 50 states in alphabetical order from one of the songs from this collection. I highly recommend this collection to all parents and teachers. November 18, 2006 We Sing America Shines The best thing about all of the Wee Sing books is that the singing is done by children for children. The choice of songs is quite comprehensive, including patriotic selections as well songs from our American history. The songs tell the story of the struggles and successes of our young country. It works well in all of my classes, from Pre-K through 6th grade.I hear them singing many of the Wee Sing songs at recess.
