When you loved the one who was killing you, it left you no options. How could you run, how could you fight, when doing so would hurt that beloved one? If your life was all you had to give, how could you not give it? If it was someone you truly loved?

To be irrevocably in love with a vampire is both fantasy and nightmare woven into a dangerously heightened reality for Bella Swan. Pulled in one direction by her intense passion for Edward Cullen, and in another by her profound connection to werewolf Jacob Black, a tumultuous year of temptation, loss, and strife have led her to the ultimate turning point. Her imminent choice to either join the dark but seductive world of immortals or to pursue a fully human life has become the thread from which the fates of two tribes hangs.

Now that Bella has made her decision, a startling chain of unprecedented events is about to unfold with potentially devastating, and unfathomable, consequences. Just when the frayed strands of Bella's life-first discovered in Twilight, then scattered and torn in New Moon and Eclipse-seem ready to heal and knit together, could they be destroyed... forever?

The astonishing, breathlessly anticipated conclusion to the Twilight Saga, Breaking Dawn illuminates the secrets and mysteries of this spellbinding romantic epic that has entranced millions.

A Very Disappointing Finish To An Otherwise Fantastic Series
Just like everyone else, I was so excited to get my copy of Breaking Dawn. About half way through the book, I lost interest. This is a first for me, because I flew through the other three books. I"m not sure what happened, it just seems like Stephenie panicked knowing that this was the last book and quickly tied everything up at the end, so that everyone lives "Happy Ever After". I cannot tell you how many days/nights Breaking Dawn sat on my dresser, because I didn't feel like reading it. It dragged on way too long. I found myself skipping over all the descriptive parts and only reading the dialogue, so that I could finish it up faster. What a disappointment to an otherwise fantastic series.

Great story...well written
I highly recommend this series. It is a great story that is easy to follow. It captures your imagination and your interest to a point that you can't put it down. It's like watching an awesome movie and you can't rest until you know the end. If you like fantasy and love stories, this series is for you.

Neutral. Don't hate it, don't love it. {Spoilers}
When I received Breaking Dawn in the mail, I was torn between to emotions...excitement and fear. I was ecstatic that I could finally read the book, but afraid that the spoilers I accidentally read would be true (ALL of which ended up being 100% true, much to my disappointment). In the beginning of the book, I was pretty content with the direction the book seemed to be going--everything seemed to be perfect. Unfortunately, this view was quickly shattered as soon as I discovered that Bella was pregnant.

Teen pregnancy? That didn't seem like a great idea to be filling into the possible elementary children reading the book. Nevertheless, I kept reading because I believed that I could not automatically choose between the anti-Breaking-Dawn or pro-Breaking-Dawn sides. Besides, I had paid for the book with my own money and figured, why not get my money's worth and finish it before I chuck it out my window if I absolutely hate it?

As I continued to read, Stephenie surprised me once more with Edward asking Jacob to convince Bella to abort her baby in order to have another one...from Jacob. I found Edward's request somewhat disturbing, but I continued to press forward to finish the book.

Blah blah blah happened, imprint, Bella woke up, and blah blah blah continued. Bella ended up having an interesting "power" that seemed to suit her, but her daughter seemed so special it was kind of dull. Then the Volturi arrived.

At last! I thought, maybe I would get the action I craved since Sam didn't step up and provide it. Yet, I was disappointed to find that the Volturi just "talked" out the entire situation with Renesmee (Renesmee?!). Then the blah blah blah continued and the book ended.

After I finished the book, I was still confused on how to react. I guessed it was the shock of the twists Stephenie had placed in Breaking Dawn. So, I waited for a few days for either the hate or the love to wash over me; but, I felt nothing and I still harbor neither love nor hate towards the book.

The book was definitely not as bad as some reviewers on various sites were claiming, but it wasn't the best either. I believe everyone's feelings towards the book will be different, so those unsure should attempt to read it.

*I am still an Edward fan, though. ;]*

A NO SPOILERS REVIEW Unexpected... and that's a good thing!
I guarantee that this review will have no spoilers. Not that it matters since all the other reviews do.

This book had all of the elements of a good read: an engaging plot with enough twists to keep a reader interested, fully fleshed characters, and a happy ending that ties up all loose ends.

Based on these facts alone, this book is good as a standalone. I would recommend it to even those who did not read Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse.

Readers of the series who enjoyed it will likely read this book anyway, just to see what happens. So for those who have not, but want to see what all of the hype is about, it is good.

This is why:

Stephenie's writing style doesn't just tell a story from the viewpoint of a character: She makes you feel everything the character is feeling. Since most of the characters are so easy to relate to, the emotions are even more fresh.

The detailed emotional subtext alone is worth the reading experience.

Please Note: Contrary to the genre (I believe this book is touted as being for young adults?) this is a book for mature readers who can understand the implications of the characters' choices. There are scenes that are, while not XXX explicit, not exactly appropriate for young readers. For anyone daring to complain about that, remember that in Stephenie's own words, she did not start writing Twilight with the intention of it being read by children, she wrote it for herself. She has kept the series clean because she has young children of her own to worry about, and has done so in Breaking Dawn. But just as people age, so have the characters of Twilight matured. The book is about an eighteen year old girl (actually, she reaches ninteen in this book) navigating romance, and experiencing "adult" situations. If at eighteen a child is considered an adult, than shouldn't a book about said individual not be considered for children?

If you've enjoyed the series thus far, you know what to expect: Hours of frenzied reading until you finish. You will also experience a maturing of characters that you will not expect unless you keep in context Bella's AGE. She is experiencing things girls much younger may go through.

There is a message, of sacrifice and determination. The characters are committed to it. Fortunatly, for the sake of a happy ending, their commitments are never tried.

Superb work, Stephenie. I eagerly await your next work.

It was Great!!!!
Breaking Dawn was a perfect ending to a perfect series. To all the naysayers that say it was not realistic--none of it is. The book is a beautiful work of FICTION! I was sorry to see the end of Bella/Edward's story but it was a fitting end for them. It was a true love story.

Ungood
Though I enjoyed each book of the series less and less I had higher hopes for the 4th after reading The Host and really enjoying it. So disapointing and so much of it did not make any sense or just seemed almost lazy.

If you havent read this series you should!!

BTW I LOVED the fact that bella had a kid!! I have always wanted her and Edward to have one!!

BTW again, you people who are saying it promotes "bad things" or what ever, get over it. It's a BOOK TO READ FOR FUN.

Best of the series
I know a lot of people don't like how things turned out for Bella, Edward, Jacob and the rest. It's too happy an ending, they say. They say it isn't realistic. Yeah, cuz Bella couldn't (SPOILER) get knocked up by a vampire! Are you hearing yourself? There are no vampires! It's a book, they are characters, and it doesn't have to be realistic. I personally loved it, I liked having the whole thing wrapped up in a big red bow. I live in real life, a little fantasy is what made the series fun to read. I definately recommend it.
