User Submitted Yoga Pret (Yoga Cards) (Yoga Cards) ReviewsNovember 9, 2008 Great for teachers in the classroom Our school ordered a set of Yoga Pretzels cards for each teacher to be used in the classroom. With such great illustrations and an excellent variety of postures, the students and teachers are really enjoying these cards. A great way to get in daily physical activity without leaving the classroom!!! September 30, 2008 Great Activity I really love these cards...over the last few months I have been trying to encourage my 8 yr old son to appreciate and enjoy yoga. For the most part he's been disinterested and resistant until these cards....Last night he actually said...mommy lets do YOGA...It sorts different poses and breathing techniques onto different cards with wonderful affirmations...its amazing. He picks and we play yoga instead of "DOING" it. Also since my son is an animal enthusiast that aspect is more obvious with the card format. Further more each card has step by step instructions and pictures to follow. I am so excited to be able to share this with my son....I strongly recommend them. August 14, 2008 Good notecards! This is a box of cards with poses, games, etc. It is very easy to store in the box and I can take it to my kids yoga class. Sometimes it is fun to have the kids pick a card and we all act out what is on thier card. I think this is a great idea and I hope to get the other versions of these cards. Thank You Karen August 13, 2008 My son is ready to go! Arrived yesterday and my son has taken over the box. (He's 8). We are going to get started together. I like the descriptions of the breathing and how you should 'feel' when you do the movements/relaxing poses. Since I'm taking a yoga class (i'm a newb) and he's going by the names on the cards, it's a bit confusing when he says, I can do the 'turtle' or I can do the 'rainbow.' But for him I find I like 'rainbow' as opposed to 'corpse pose.' Also, the cards are not the size of a 'deck' of cards. They are larger, more the size of a DVD case. The box is sturdy thick cardboard and has a nice flip top. I'm thinking it will help us take care of them properly. He did go thru each card and at the end has decided he wants the book and the pretzel mat. (Way to go for the marketing plan!!) These don't seem too 'baby' for someone his age and I think that up to 9, maybe pushing 10 could use them also. Completely satisfied. August 8, 2008 Great bonding tool that's fun & healthy My kids loves this because THEY get to select the cards and twist Mama into a pretzel. It their choice and we are doing an activity TOGETHER. There are some good/simple breathing & meditation techniques in there too, aside from the poses. February 8, 2008 Well designed, lots of fun What I like most about these is that they are color coded for different kinds of poses and activities. I like the flexibility of mixing up the poses or focusing on one kind, rather than using a book that sets the sequence. The only thing I don't like about this and some other kids yoga products is that the names of poses are changed to make them more kid friendly. Since there's no consistency between products, one will call child's pose, for example, "sleeping mouse," and another will call it "rock." But overall, I highly recommend these cards. January 14, 2008 Great Great Great I bought the book with it and they are wonderful. My 4 and 2 year old can do many the yoga positions!! Great way to connect and to wind down for bedtime!! January 4, 2008 Very Family Friendly We are still trying to fit a set time for this yoga with our crazy schedules, but we have already worked on it some and my husband and I and our two girls one five and the other three all love it. The creator of these cards seem to want to create strong families. It should be easier after the holidays to establish a family yoga routine. I can't wait. December 15, 2007 Yoga Pretzels I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!! It teaches young ones about yoga and breathing with great illustrations. This is an awesome book for parents and children to bond with as well. I'd highly recommend it to anyone who have children! October 31, 2007 Great Fun!! I am a yoga teacher that suddenly found myself teaching a "Kids Yoga" class. Looking for fun, creative tools to reach children, I purchased Yoga Pretzels and it was the best investment I have made. After a 1/2 hour of doing yoga poses and pranayama, I pull out the cards and let each student pick a card (they are usually saying, "Is it time for the cards yet?". Each student demonstrates the pose and then we all do the pose together. The team building poses are their favorites. It brings lots of laughter and joy to the class. I now use one of the cards to end each class. We all sit in a circle, hold hands, close our eyes, and take turns gently squeezing the person hands sitting to the right and say a positive word about how they are feeling. This goes on until we the circle is complete. My thanks to the creators of Yoga Pretzels!! For more Yoga Pret (Yoga Cards) (Yoga Cards) reviews click here.
