Thomas the Tank Engine's Big Lift and Look Bool
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0679880720/ref=cm_cr_rev_prod_title
I bought this book 11 years ago for grandson, Paul who is now 14 years old. My new grandson, Eli, is 19 months old and has just discovered Thomas. I wanted to buy Eli a Thomas book and remembered the time spent reading this book with Paul and the enjoyment we both got from it. I'm buying the book again for Eli. I know he will love it and learn from it and I will love sharing it with him.

Good sturdy Tab Book
The tabs are sturdy on this book and there are lots of them! The only draw back is that on some of them the little punch out that lets you get your finger get under the tab to lift it, was still in place. That made its a challenge the firs ttime we tried to read it! There also aren/'t a lot of pages, but I guess you get your bang for your buck, especially if you kid is a big Thomas fan!

a great book to interact with your child
This book is a wonderful learning tool. On one page the flaps contain numbers 1-10, another page has railway cars carrying each letter of the alphabet. And what kid doesn't love to lift all those flaps!

Great Book
My son loves Thomas & Friends and flap books, so this was a hit with him. One of the flaps was not completely cut, so he has messed it up trying to get it to open. I guess I will sit down and try to get it opened up and then reglue the top back down. Other than that...great book!

Fun and educational
My 3 year old loved this when he got it last year however he ripped off the flaps so luckily when a friend got him another one he knew enough not to rip it. It encourages parent/child interaction which every child needs for development. The flaps are somewhat difficult to open initially so adult helpful supervision is recommended.

Sturdy lift-and-look book!
This book is so sturdy! My 2-year old loves to rip off flaps on lift-the-flap book but he hasn't done it on this one! It's great - we can make up stories about everything going on under the flaps and I will ask my son to find things for me that are under the flaps. It also can teach letters, numbers, and the alphabet, but my son doesn't care about that - he just wants to lift the flaps! We have had this book for almost a year and he still loves it. We will have this book a long time.

Great Share Time Book!
I am enjoying this book for the third "time". The kids enjoy lifting the flaps to see what is behind them and never seem to tire of it. We have explored the alphabet and learned new words. We have reinforced counting and touched on basic math. This book helps spark the imagination and the stories that little ones can come up with are marvelous. I have 3 very different grandsons, but this book has given me hours of enjoyment with each one of them in their turn. It is the book most requested during visits from Nana.

Good for 2 year olds
We've gotten a good 4 months use out of this book, with several fringe benefits to lifting up the tabs and looking. We can practice recognition of the trains' (where is Percy, Thomas, etc.), look for colors, make sounds (the cuckoo clock, dog barking, trains of course). The numbered flaps are a little hard to see, but still fun to look. When I was able to keep them from tearing the flaps off entirely, we enjoyed the anticipation of looking underneath them. Worth the price because it's interactive and parents can make more of the pictures than just the flaps if so inclined.

Good Book
We have 2 of this book so we could leave one at granny's. My son loves Thomas and this book. The reason it only got 4 stars is the lift flaps are not all that durable and we are missing some out of both books.

Big Quality Book that will become a favorite....
The only reason I didn't give it five stars is there is no story- but that only seems to bother the parents. Both my boys love this book (age four and five) and it's a frequent pick at bedtime. The cardboard is heavy duty and the doors are firmly attached: they still close after two years and none have torn off! It's over sized, so all the details are easy to see... and there is ALOT to see! The scenes are spread out over two facing pages with each having a different focus: from the alphabetical freight cars A to Z to counting in the cargo cases and opposites in the depot. The lack of story might be on purpose as we spend a lot of time taking about what's going on in the different scenes. If your little ones are Thomas fans- it's a bonus, but not a requirement.
Hope your children enjoy this book as much as mine... well maybe a little less (I do get tired of the same book night after night after night... ;)
