Everyone's in love with vampires, and if his name happens to be Edward Cullen, then readers of the wildly popular Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer can't help but be crazy about him. For all those who adore Bella Swan, Edward, and the rest of the Cullen family and can't get enough, this companion guide is a must-read and a terrific gift.  The series follows an unlikely couple: Bella, a teenager, and her boyfriend Edward, a vampire that has sworn off human blood. But their love is ill-fated--being a vampire, Edward must keep his passion in check, lest he is driven to suck Bella's blood.

With legends, lore, and myths about everything from vampires to werewolves to immortality, a bio of the author, and a ton of insight into the four-book series, this companion guide will give millions of readers the information that they've been waiting for since book one.

Did she read the books?
This book is so far out there. I had a hard time believing, in several areas of her book, whether she had even read the Twilight Series.

It's like Teen Beat, ga ga over Edward, tween sillyness..written by your MOM!
I will admit, I'm not 13. But if I was, I would really enjoy taking the silly "tests" in this book to see if Edward is my dream boy! This book obsesses over Edward almost as much as Bella does! But seeing this was written by someone who clearly has not been a teenager in quite a long while, it's just wierd.

If your 40+ year old mom wrote a book about how drop dead gorgeous Edward is, this would be it. And you'd be just as creaped out.

Worth a thumb through at the store, but not worth taking home unless it's in the $1 bin. Just a half-butted attempt to cash in on the Twilight craze. Not much else here. Even the Vampire "facts" are mostly just rehashed info about Bram Stokers Dracula.

ugh

Horrible
in summary, this was a waste of my money. it was completrel;y inaccurate and anyone who knows anything about the twilight series, would not like it at all. this "guide" has many inaccurate "facts" about these books, so DON'T BUY IT!!! no wonder stephenie meyer didn't approve of it. =(
P.S. if i could give it a 0 star rating, i would

The Non-Twilight Companion
This book was a waste of my money. I am a huge fan of Twilight. No wonder Stephenie Meyers didn't approve this book. All it has is quiz's that do not relate to the books, or movie. Also as other reviews for this book warned, Edward bites Bella. Not even close. All I can say, is that I wasted $$ on this book.

Blah
I really do not think anyone should waste their time with this book. It really has too much extra stuff about other vampire movies that Twilight lovers do not give a hoot about.

DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Seriously this book is a joke and extremely disrespectful to all Twilight fans and Stephenie Meyer.Obviously, its the "unauthorized"whatever-I'mnot calling it a guide because it definatly isn't a guide to Twilight. There is no possible way this author even read the books or she did and chose to just blatently lie about the facts.Edward mixes his blood with Bellas-what??are you for real??She says Edward wasnt a virgin UM yes he was-anyone who read any one of the books would know that. I'm just really upset and irritated that something like this was allowed to be published. This lady is clearly trying to take advantage of Twilight fans because she knows that we will pretty much purchase anything that has to do with the saga.I looked at her website and this is basically what she does she piggybacks off major book series' writing what she calls "guides" to make money. This really disgusts me, that someone would do this just to make a few bucks. No one can write a guide to Twilight but Stephenie because only she knows all the FACTS. If you are going to write a "guide" book unofficial or not at least get your facts straight.Sorry for the rant but if your a twilight fan or not(thinking you might learn about the series from this book)don't buy this book because its extremely inaccurate

Are you kidding me?
PLEASE, PLEASE, do not spend your money on this book! You will be sorely disappointed. Luckily, I didn't buy this book; I borrowed it from a co-worker. If I had actually bought it, I would have been even more upset than I am for wasting a few hours reading it.

This book isn't remotely close to a companion guide for the Twilight Saga. (The rest of the review will contain spoilers from the Twilight books, so don't read any farther if you haven't read the books.) Throughout the book, the author gives a rundown on typical vampires and werewolves. The characters in Twilight are not at all typical! This entire companion book is basically this: Even though the Cullen vampires don't sleep (or insert any "typical" vampire quality), if they did, this is what you would have to do if you were in love with a vampire...... The author also goes on and on about werewolves and how they are portrayed in movies and books and doesn't even acknowledge that Breaking Dawn revealed that the pack wasn't composed of werewolves, but that they were shape shifters. The author also tells you that if you want to have a vampire boyfriend, you'll need to put on white makeup everyday, but if you have a werewolf boyfriend, you need to have hair injections to have fur on your face. Also, make sure your vampire boyfriend wears sunscreen so he doesn't get skin cancer. The author also speaks very condescendingly about career driven women, scientists, doctors, nurses, and women and men during the labor process.

The book is maybe 25% about Twilight, and the other 75% is about other vampire and werewolf movies and books. The parts that do contain references to Twilight are riddled with errors. I think the error that caught me most off guard was where she said Edward could project his thoughts into Bella's mind. I guess she was referring to New Moon where Bella HALLUCINATED hearing Edward's voice, not Edward actually projecting his thoughts into her head. A few other errors.....Edward injected his venom blood into Bella (it's just venom), there was a vampire/werewolf fight at the wedding (there was an argument, not an actual fight), the only way Edward was going to turn Bella into a vampire was if her life was in danger (he had already agreed to change her after they were married), Bella tinkered with motorcycles (not Bella, Jacob did), Jacob's pack killed people (they protected people, no killing of humans, only vampires), Edward wasn't a virgin when he first made love to Bella (of course he was, did you skip that whole part in Eclipse?!), vampires don't have babies, even though in the very next chapter she mentions they have a child......there are others, but those are the ones that stood out.

If you want a childishly written book on typical vampires and werewolves, then this is definitely the book for you. However, if you want a true companion to the Twilight saga, wait for Stephenie's book to come out.

waste of money
Like everyone before me reviewing this book, there are so many inaccurate information about the twilight saga. I am getting the sense that the author did not read the books...probably skimmed it. I bought this book to see if I missed anything in the books...i am so disappointed that I wasted my money on this.

Advice...Wait for the official guide by Stephanie Meyer

Disappointed
I am a huge fan of the Twilight Saga, and must have all things Twilight. I picked this up the other night, to add to my collection and I am very disappointed that I wasted my money. Understanding that it is an unauthorized guide, I was still suprised to see so many mistakes in references to the saga. Starting on page one "...Edward mixes his blood with hers..." WHAT? This is Twilight, not Moonlight.
The quizes are kind of fun, & there are tidbits about other vampires, which are kind of interesting. But overall, I am not very impressed. If it weren't for my cat taking a bite out of the cover, I would be returning it.

Terrible. Don't buy this. Save your money.
I just got this book a week ago or so after ordering it on amazon. I was very dissappointed in it.

First of all, I found it to be borring and dull. I just finished reading the twilight series and although this is the twilight comapnion, it just doesn't compare to the twilight books. It does talk about Edward and the Cullens quite a bit, but I find this book to be a big joke.
The author talks about why we could easily fall in love with vampires and talks about the top 10 hottest men and women in magazines and how they compare to the vampires in the twilight series. I did not enjoy the book at all and really tried to go through it fast so I could get it over with. I wouldn't have finished it if I hadn't just spent money on it, but I figured, maybe it would get better if I kept reading, but it didn't.

The only thing I did like about this book was the Edward quiz to see if you are compatible to be with Edward, but it wasn't worth the money.

Beware, if you have not read the last book in the twilight series, breaking dawn, this book does have several spoilers about the book in the last few pages. Big spoilers that I would have been upset to read about if I hadn't already read it.

Don't waste your money on this. Wait for the official guide.
