I too, like the other reviewers, have my questions about these books. It is simply written and a bit gory at times. But's what's with all the bickering? Sometimes you want to read books to get away from reality! Enough with the sibling rivelery already! If you want to get away from all that nonsense then try reading the Adventures With Boys series. But, if you like constant fighting then Spiderwick are the books for you! Enjoy! November 20, 2008 Pleased Customer The books were in excellent shape and arrived in quick time. I was very pleased with the service. November 15, 2008 Good books even for adults! Well i'm 38 and I totaly loved the books (5 in total). My only problem with the series was that I wished it would have been continued, but I guess all good things must come to an end. Don't worry about the intended audience the series aims at, go out and buy it or if you're uncomfortable order online via amazon, like I did! October 21, 2008 disappointing I was interested to read these books, based on the reviews I read. I ordered the five volume set of the first five books, thinking I'd be able to settle in and read for a good long time. It was disappointing to receive a set of five tiny books, each containing one scant chapter. At a cost of over $5.00 each, this could be the most expensive children's book ever, once you read all the different volumes. So, not much of a story, and a rip-off if you look at value, which you should certainly look at. One of the many satisfying things about the Harry Potter books is that they are full books, some quite long, and very engrossing, even as a re-read. October 15, 2008 Perfect Collection of Fantasy My husband and I saw the movie based on these books and became intrigued by the story. I immediately ordered the book collection after the movie ended. These books are very sweet with writing and illustrations that will lead any child into a wonderful world of fantasy. This collection would be a special reading experience for grandparents with their grandchildren but also for all parents who enjoy fantasy and want to introduce their children to the fun world of make believe. August 10, 2008 Spiderwick Chronicles - boxed set of 5 books After we watched the movie, my daughter wondered why there needed to be a field guide for so few mythological creatures. She was right!!! The movie cut out so many main elements and characters, that the books were a welcome relief to know the story that the authors actually intended to share.
