I look to it whenever playing Pokemon
Sure, it doesn't have all the recent Pokemon, but whenever I'm playing Pokemon and I'm battling someone, I look right to this. I got it when I was around ten years old from a friend and it was already beaten up so much that I had to tape every page. Nevertheless, I used it all the time to go on "Pokemon adventures" with my brothers. This is a great book for Pokemon fans and children.

Good reference with learning about Pokemon.
I saw this handbook and felt like I had to get this. I love reading about these little (and big) creatures. Even though the book is from 1999, but for me I like looking at old Pokemon.
The book gives you an introduction to the Pokemon World in the front and in the back also gives you info about the show, FAQ's, and more info and about Pokemon. The book has wonder drawings but the background colors are a little distracting. The book gives you pronunciation, element, type, height, weight, techniques, other techniques, good against, bad against, evolution, and fun facts about each Pokemon. The book covers to Bulbasaur #1- #151 Mew and a sneak preview at Togepi.
Very helpful book, I am glad I bought it. But for video games I don't look on this I use my Strategy Guide for that.

We had the older 2008 version of another title, this one has more info now, my SOn, 8, really enjoys it.

Pokemon Handbook
The book is nice but I was a little disappointed that it is so old. Many, many of the latest Pokemon are not covered in the book.

typo
i found a typo on the back.
it talks about the well known fact of poliwags and polwhirls swirl directon change.
and mistakenly says poliwhirl evolves into poliwag WRONG!!!
though some1 should know
