Not a bad item for the price.
I bought this for my 4 year old daughter. It wasn't quite what I was expecting - the stickers aren't as easily reusable as I would have liked. It kept her busy for a while, though. She enjoyed it.

Okay
The lines are thick and very definite, creating a very stark and beautiful image. The paper, though, is thin and cheap, making it impossible to color (pencils poke through too easily, and pens bleed everywhere). There's most of your favorite classic scenes, but you'll be disappointed if you wanted some good shots of Ariel as a human.

I think it is too fast paced for kids
I have read this book to my kids a number of times, and they like it. I don't think they understand it, though, from some of the questions they ask. I think the book is fun to read, with lots of good lines to read and good illustrations to match. But I think there is just too much going on in it, and I don't like how there are so many quick transitions from one scene/setting to another.

this was a very good book the picture was just mag nifisant. I rated this one a 4 because I loved the little mermaid and i just cant reading it. I wish I could live under water, well I said it to soon that was my favorite part going back and forth living in and out of water. this book was thrilling but 'it was also tragic with a little touch of romance. this book was a lot like the move it was just easy to under stand.i also would like to say the pictures were good also.

The Little Mermaid by Michael Teitelbaum
-A wonderful story!!! I still go through the feelings and emotions that happen throughout the book. I think it's a great under water sea story and I recommend it to any little girl!

Little Mermaid
The Little Mermaid was good story, I like how she got to get married to the man she loved. Even though her dad didn't want her to go, he changed his mind.

The Little Mermaid by Myriah Rangel
This book is about a mermaid named Ariel, that is really fascinated by human treasures. She always wanted to be like a human. One day she sees a ship, and her and scuttle (her flying friend) went to see what it was, it was humans dancing. There had been a storm, and the human she liked was named Prince Eric and he fell in the water. He started to drown, but Ariel couldn't let her prince drown, so she took him to the surface. She sang him a beautiful song, while stroking his hair. Then his crew started to come, so she took off. Flounder her best friend who was a fish was with her later that day, and she told him about how she dreamed of seeing him again.

One of the Last Great Golden Books
When I was growing up the first books that I can remember owning were the Little Golden Books especially the Walt Disney titles. The first title that I can fondly remember was "Darby O'Gill and the Little People" that my parents bought me. What I remember most and what really interested me were the illustrations. I had seen the film in the theatre and I was really interested in having this book to go along with the movie. I spent many hours over the coarse of my childhood looking at those pictures and savoring all the enjoyment they gave me helping me relive my experience of seeing that film. "The Little Mermaid" was the first new Disney film that my daughter had ever seen in the theatre. "The Little Mermaid" was also the first Little Golden Book I purchased for her. I hadn't really looked at any of these books in years but it was almost by instinct when I picked up "The Little Mermaid" in the bookstore and brought it home for her. How knew the style of the illustrations looked, not quite the same as "Darby O'Gill and the Little People" as I remember. However, life does comes full-circle I suppose. This was always my daughter's favorite Little Golden Book. I used to read the book to her as she looked at the pictures at bedtime. None of the subsequent Little Golden Books seemed to hold the same magic that "The Little Mermaid" did for her. I just found her copy of this book in the cellar the other day. I picked it up and looked through it. I suppose this was the first time that I really looked at the illustrations, I mean really looked at them. They didn't look quite that new any more. They were beginning to show their age. I just didn't realize how many years had passed since I had purchased it. Life continues on with another circle. I am so glad that I still have this book and am able to clutch it in my hands and just remember.

Cute one to add to your bookshelf
This is the darling story of The Little Mermaid in a shortened, Golden Book version. It's the perfect length for a bedtime story for my 4 year-old. I bought lots of them and gave them as party favors for my daughter's Little Mermaid party. They were hit because it's a favor the kids actually keep instead of a bunch of trinkets. Enjoy!
