The Eensy Weensy Spider Review
User Submitted The Eensy Weensy Spider ReviewsAugust 18, 2008 Great book! This book is clever and fun. My daughter loves it - and so do I! May 29, 2008 Marvelous book The Eensy-Weensy Spider One of my granddaughter's all-time favorite books. Decided to get copies for two of my great-nephews, too. May 3, 2008 Eensy-Weensy Spider in the Middle of the Night! Fantastic book for kids of all ages! I love it as much as my three-year-old grandchildren do, and every time we get this book out, they want me to read it several times. The fabulous colorful pictures are fun for the kids and for me, and are detailed enough to give us lots to talk about on each page, but not so detailed as to overwhelm young eyes. The only problem I have with Eensy-Weensy Spider is that I find it running through my mind at odd times, including when I wake in the middle of the night! October 11, 2007 Such a cute book! I love this book! The "expanded" version of the song is so much fun to sing! The kids in my class love it. December 15, 2006 The adventures of a little spider come to life! We LOVE this book. I used a few of the verses in this book to reinforce some sign language word we were teaching our daughter, and it helped her learn how to use "please" and "bed/sleepy". I totally don't know any toddler/children's rhymes, so this book has even helped me learn! We can sing along in the car now, even if I don't have the book! September 13, 2005 This one will be a classic in your child's library. This book is one of my sons favorites. (17 months) The illustrations are great and the authors make a cute little day-long adventure for the eensy weensy spider. The book is actually pretty long so it works well for a bedtime story. I would also suggest "The Lady with the Alligator Purse" and "Miss Mary Mack" by the same two authors. All three of these books are illustrated from a unique point of view that I think children like because they get to see things from a semi-birds view rather than their usual worms eye view. April 29, 2005 My baby never gets tired of this book We bought this book for my daughter when she was about 8 months old. She loved to hear the song right away and would sometimes want me to sing it 3 times in a row. Now that she is almost 11 months, she will grab this specific book off of her shelf and flip through it by herself and point to the pictures. This will be a favorite book for years to come. I can't wait until she can sing this song by herself. February 28, 2004 Sing the Story! If you know the words to eensy weensy spider (or itsy bitsy Spider depending where you were raised)- you can sing this whole book. My two year loves it! Doesn't matter if Dad, Mom, or one his 5 big brothers sings it to him- he just wants to listen to you sing it! He is starting to hum along. I can hardly wait till he is old enough to sing along too! Great books like this one allow a child to interact along with the story. The writing to cute and fun. The pictures adorable. Enjoy! February 6, 2004 ADORABLE This delightfully illustrated book contains a series of independent verses about the adventures of little pink spider with a blue hat, as she marches in a parade, hugs a baby bug, swims with a frog, buys new shoes, and such. The spider is SO DARN CUTE, it should cure any bug phobic. (If only spiders were so cute in real life). This book is a tad long, perhaps a bit too long for the youngest child. Each two-page spread contains a full verse. The first spread contains the traditional eensy-weensy spider verse; each subsequent spread contains a variation of the traditional verse. My favorite -- The eensy weensy spider fell down and scraped her knees. "Ouch!" cried the spider. "I need some Band-Aids, please!" "How many?" asked her mama. "I only have a few." Said the eensy-weensy spider, "Six of them will do." Overall, the book is delightful, a little longer & more complex than the typical board book. October 30, 2002 Fun book for the whole family This is one of the few books that I can get my 14 month old to sit through, he loves the illustrations and the rhymning text holds his attention. It is a favorite for both of his parents, as well. We highly recommend this book. For more The Eensy Weensy Spider reviews click here.
