The Complete Adventures of Curious George Review
With an introduction by critic Leonard Marcus, a retrospective note by publisher Anita Silvey, and a cataloged history of the Reys by curator Dee Jones, this collection offers a fun and fascinating portrait of a classic character and his unique creators. User Submitted The Complete Adventures of Curious George ReviewsNovember 3, 2008 read it to kids - edition is for grownups, but the stories are for everyone! This volume gathers Curious George and the six original books in the series: 1) Curious George 2) ...Takes a Job 3) ...Rides a Bike 4) ...Gets a Medal 5) ...Flies a Kite 6) ...Learns the Alphabet 7) ...Goes to the Hospital I was given this as a nostalgic birthday gift a few years ago and was greatly charmed. I don't even think I read all of those when I was little, so it was sweet to see them again after so many years. Curious George is the story of the "man in the yellow hat" who has brought back an inquisitive and mischievous monkey, Curious George. The stories usually involve a jungle-raised monkey getting into all kinds of trouble in the city, but all ends well and George comes home safely in the end - and no one really can stay mad at him. This book is a handsome edition with a good binding and high quality printing. (The colors look good, etc.) I don't really like the glossy pages for book that will be loved to pieces by a child, but if you want this for a gift edition, it's perfect. I suggest having this as something you would read to a child, since it's kind of big and you wouldn't want to drop it on a grown-up foot. October 3, 2008 George! My youngest son likes monkeys a lot and George was a favorite of mine when i was little. He loves the book and read all of it by himself. It took him quite a while because it is a very long book and it is also well made. September 29, 2008 the complete adventures of curious george obviously great stories and so many of them. however, i think it's more fun for a little person to be able to go through multiple books versus one cmbersome edition. but a great value in hard cover September 22, 2008 Curious George What a wonderful book! It takes me right back to childhood, and my children love it. It really holds their attention. Highly recommended, and great value for money. Excellent quality and fast shipping, goods arrived in perfect condition August 20, 2008 excellent this is an awesome book for the money my 2 year old daughter loves it and I love the info on the author. It is a great book and worth the purchase. July 30, 2008 Wonderful Classic It is so great to be able to read stories to your children that your parents read as children! This is such a timeless clasic. My 3 1/2 year old son loves it and we would recommend it to all parents! July 12, 2008 nice collection This book is wonderful. I personally loved Curious George as a kid and I wanted to pass those stories along to my son, and what better way than all the original stories in one book! It takes up so much less space and costs much less than buying each book separately. Well worth the money. June 1, 2008 Curious George for father &son I purchased this wonderful book for our 4 year old grandsons birthday. His dad's favorite toy as a small child was his stuffed Curious George which he still has at age 42. It gives us great pleasure seeing him read Curious George books to his son now many years later. This collection is great and brings back many memories. May 27, 2008 Cuious George's Complete Adventures This hardcover book is excellent! I gave it to my nephew as a birthday present and we have been reading the stories morning, noon, and night! He cannot get enough of Curious George and this book is the perfect fit for us! This book is a must-have for any family with children that love Curious George! April 14, 2008 Dull and strange I read a couple of these to my daughter, and they are ok. But one really struck me as uncomfortably strange - "George goes to the moon". It is about curious george taking part in experiments in space - and how much fun he has doing so. I looked for another in the series say "curious george and the polio vaccine" or "curious george volunteers to visit the vivisectionists" or even "curious george and the bush meat trade". I understand why we need to experiment on animals. But there is something wrong in us pretending to kids that it's fun for the animal.
