This item arrived in great condition and as described. They came in good time, as well. August 26, 2008 The Chronicles are great The books were in great condition when I received them. Being a bog fan of the movies I wan't to read the books. However they are defenitly written for children but are also worth your time if you still have a big imagination as an adult. August 17, 2008 Family Fun I got this box set for my 7 year old daughter. As it turns out the whole family has enjoyed it. The stories are simple enough for a child to read and have enough symbolism for an adult to enjoy. We've had great talks about the books we've finished and race to get to those we've yet to read. Your kids are much smarter than we think. My daughter has picked up on most of the symbolism and has great insights on the characters. Don't expect the books to have great layers as the movies do. They're written for children and enjoy them as a child would. August 4, 2008 Good item. The item was in great shape and the same as was described. It was also shipped in a timely manner. July 29, 2008 Sexy Scenes None, A Great Read Great Books well written from an author you can trust when giving your children summer reading. I chose to pull books by Tamora Pierce from my 13 year old daughter after glancing into them to find uncontrolable passions of the teen aged heroine, plus mentioning the use of magic for birth control. Uncontrolable passion is never a good thing if we are truthful. Even my distain of rap! C.S. Lewis was a good guy and a great author! There is everything to like from these "Great, Clean, Fun Books! July 28, 2008 Great box set at great price i had never read narnia before and i am now half way through them and absolutely love them. this box set is great, light paperbacks are the best. July 26, 2008 Superlative i first read these books as a complete set when working in a refugee camp in thailand. they blew my mind then as had done the reading to me of the voyage of the dawn treader as a young boy at bording school. i love these books they are most special, but dont come up to the level of lord of the rings... in my opinion. still, i reckon second only to lord of the rings and none other fantasy fiction can meet this standard, except perhaps the never ending story. with love, from, snow-flake. xxx July 20, 2008 I realize it's the inside that counts, but... The content of these books is wonderful, as always with C.S. Lewis' works. Upon receipt of the product I was disappointed to find that 5 of the books in the set have "Now a Major Motion Picture" printed inside a bold yellow circle on the front cover. This was not shown on any of the product images that I saw before I made my purchase, so it was an unexpected and unpleasant surprise when I opened the box. July 19, 2008 The Adventure Wtih Jesus The Chronicles of Narnia are a great way of helping children begin to understand a relationship, adventure, life and characteristics of Jesus Christ. They were written by a Christian man who knew Jesus personally and who was able to express Jesus' personality in a way children could grasp. I love the imagination he uses and the character of Aslan. I love most of all the forgiveness Edmund receives and how Aslan sacrificed himself for Edmund. A great picture of our spiritual need as a human race as a whole; our greatest need is forgiveness. July 15, 2008 Interesting books I am learning more about Narnia besides The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrove. I already read the first book, and I am part way into the third book. I already read LWW and know what happened in that book, so I skipped it. I wanted to know the whole story of Narnia, as well as have another book series in my collection.
