Richard Scarry's Bedtime Stories (Pictureback(R)) Review
User Submitted Richard Scarry's Bedtime Stories (Pictureback(R)) ReviewsJune 4, 2008 Bed Time Stories with the Aminals Mr Scarry was my children's favorite author. Again, as I read Richard Scarry's books to my grandchildren they loved every character. There was a clear cut character trait and lesson on life to be learned. I bought this book expecting to find my friend Richard Scarry but, this did not even sound like his other books. I was very disappointed. Will I buy another Richard Scarry book. Probably not. April 5, 2008 great book, smaller than I thought it would be This is a great little book and came in the condition that it was said to be in and came extremely quickly. The books only fault is that it is a lot smaller than I had thought. Thanks December 27, 2007 Richard Scarry Long time favorite in our family Our sons loved Richard Scarry as children. their grandmother bought books for them frequently Mr Scarry was a favorite My grandson loves him too this was a gift for caleb,my grandson He asks for this book as well as other Scarry books to be read over and over If you are looking for a childrens book for 2 to 5 year olds try one of Mr Scarrys January 12, 2007 Bedtime stories? Some, not all. As usual Richard Scarry's illustrations are wonderful. However, the first story in this book is about pirates and a "ferocious monster". Not sure why you would include a story like this before bedtime?? The other stories are fine, but if your child gets scared easily maybe the other stories would be better. November 6, 2006 keeps attention of a three month old This book is great for bedtime. Our three month old daughter loves the pictures and short stories. November 3, 2006 Not really bedtime stories.... Ordered this for our two and a half year old. He likes the stories and they are indeed cute stories but they are not bedtime related stories which is what we were expecting. Of course, ANY story could be a bedtime story which I'm sure is what the compilers of this book had going on. July 2, 2006 richard scary books we read these books together... the word aquisition skill opportunities are wonderful..share and enjoy. September 5, 2005 The Original Richard Scarry you loved as a kid This edition preserves the original Richard Scarry artwork and text from the 1970's that I grew up with (and loved) as a kid. Some of the new (1990 and on) editions of Scarry stories have art that is slightly "off" from Scarry's style, and text that does not convey Scarry's wit and fun storytelling style. Rest assured that this edition has both of those! November 13, 2003 Good short stories, but has nothing to do with bedtime. This book is a nice collection of short stories, but none of the stories have a thing to do with falling asleep. Buy this book because you want more of Richard Scarry's wonderful stories, not because you want to soothe your child to sleep. I myself feel let down because I thought I was buying stories to put my child to sleep to. July 3, 2000 My son (3 and 1/2) loves these stories, however... Great stories with great characters, but if you've already purchased "Funniest Stories Ever..." then don't bother with "Bedtime Stories" because "Bedtime..." merely contains a subset of the stories found in "Funniest", with no new material what-so-ever. This was needless to say rather disappointing to find out, following the online purchase.
