Good story but galling audiobook
The story is good but perhaps a bit boring for children under 7 or 8 years of age. The narrator of the audiobook does a decent job but is not as lively as other narrators I have heard and unfortunately grossly mispronounces the name of one of the three main characters (which, given the number of times she is mentioned, becomes galling).

This is a great book that I bought for my daughter for her last novel of the year.

Good Fun
My children and I loved the stories. Watch out for the last story however. The generous Pippi shares guns with her friends. I had to explain to my six year old that this is from a different time in a different country and that she should never ever touch a gun.

Pippi Longstocking (not cut out for a 1st grader)
The book is a classic and I love it but it definitely is not reading material for a 1st grader. I bought this for Christmas (although Amazon promised to get it here by then and it came December 27th) I will give it to my daugher for her 7yr b-day.

Kids shoudl love Pippi
This book is excellent for young and old. It needs to be in everyone's library. Buy it for an 8 year old relative, but read it before you wrap it up!

Not Free SF Reader
A book that is aimed at young girls, but is a kid's book in general. The young P L lives by herself, and has plenty of money. (Ok, well, she does have a monkey, so points for that).

Basically, she goes around having a good time, and causing havoc for any nogoodniks that get in her way.

A Pippi Review
Pippi is a very strong girl who moves into Villa Villekulla. She doesn't have any parents. She thinks her father is a cannibal. Her mother died when she was a baby. Pippi says she's not alone because she has Mr. Nilsson and her horse. She is a remarkable girl, whose whole name is Pippilotta Delicatessa Windowshade Mackrelmint Efraim's Daughter Longstocking, daughter of Captain Efraim Longstocking, formerly the Terror of the Sea, now a cannibal king. She has many adventures with Tommy and Annika. At the end, Pippi says she wants to be a pirate when she grows up. Submitted by the students in Ms. Allen's Second Grade class.

I liked the book!
Pippi Longstocking was a little girl that had no father and mother .She taught that her father will come back and be a Cannibal King .Pippi had a monkey and a horse the monkey's name was Mr.Nilson. Once she saw a girl and a boy their names where Tommy and Annika. In the morning Tommy and Annika went school Pippi always stared she was really interested in school. One day two police men went by Pippi's house and they told her that to go to children apartment. She asked him if her pets could go to. Then he said no. The police men asked Pippi if she new multiplication facts. Pippi told him yes I now plutification facts. Then Pippi decided to go to school but while she was there she did bad things. In art she had to draw something on a piece of paper but then she told her teacher she couldn't fit her big white horse on her piece of paper that's why she drew it on the floor. She was a big trouble maker. One day she arranged a picnic and she got out of school because it was scrubbing vacation. While that happened Mr. Nilson got lost. When they found him they all made a picnic and played a game. Pippi had told them that there where ghost in her attic. Then she said do you want to go. So they did go Tommy said ghost!!!
But it wasn't a ghost it was Pippi. Lastly Tommy and Annika left and Pippi said I want to be a pirate when I grow up. Then she asked Tommy and Annika don't you?

A Classic Still Not Dated
As a child, I read and enjoyed the Pippi Longstocking books. Now, as a teacher and director of a school, can have these wonderful, uninhibited stories read by students. And these are not just any students they are Taiwanese ESL students. The ideas of freedom, self-moderation, regulation, and disregard of what others think of your nonconformist good intentions hit a resonant note with them. These are still great books for pre and early teen readers. (Older readers can enjoy reading them to even younger children.)

The book Pippi Longstocking is a pretty funny book.
You should read the book Pippi Longstocking. It is about a girl who is about ten years old. She lives by herself, she has a horse, and she has two best friends. Oh yah, I forgot to tell you she is really, really and really strong.

One day Pippi Longstocking went on a boat to go sail with her father. It was a very stormy day and her father went overboard and Pippi never thought he was dead, but you don't know if he is dead or not. Pippi thought he became a cannibal king.

When I finished the book I gave it two thumbs up and what I like about this book is Pippi does not care about what people think about her, her hair is reddish orange, her ponytails look crazy and she has really big shoes even though she's pretty weird she does not care, Pippi's still going to be herself.
