This beloved and bestselling book from Audrey and Don Wood has been delighting children--and sending them off to bed with laughter and sweet dreams--for years. The entertaining antics of ten marvelous pigs in Piggies have made this book a classic. Now here is the new sturdy edition just right for tiny hands, making them a must for every family's board book collection. User Submitted Piggies ReviewsFebruary 11, 2008 Piggies for young child who interest in... My daughter who is 17 months old. She asked me about piggies all times. I suggest the children who interest in piggies. It is good book for young toddlers. October 22, 2007 Piggies As always, Audrey Wood comes through with an awesome children's book. Piggies is no exception - the illustrations are enchanting! August 14, 2007 Don and Audrey Wood... Do wonderful stuff together! This is a family favorite. We love to just look at the pictures to see what all the piggies are doing. The story is simple and sweet! Heather mama of 5 June 11, 2007 Piggies is Perfect When our children were under 5, Piggies was an all time favorite. I must admit that despite reading after reading at bedtime... those Piggies still put a smile on my face. This book is absolutely delightful and funny. Every page has an illustration that is worth taking a few minutes to appreciate the humorous details of those Piggies. My wife and I now give Piggies as a gift to the parents of younger kids. Our children are now teens and they still laugh about this book. It is truly one of those books for all ages. January 19, 2007 Funny, always gets a smile My children love this story. Every time I look at the fabulous illustrations, I always find something new to marvel at - & the children do, too (6 and 3). It's fun making up voices to go with the storyline - gets great giggles - especially at the end, when I get to tickle them. November 26, 2006 A Family Favorite The story in Piggies is cute, but the best part of the book is the detailed illustration. Every "piggie" has his or her own personality. One is a "bookworm," always reading even when in the bathtub. One of the "long" piggies is always stretching out, and one of the "fat" piggies is always munching on something. It's fun to see what each character is doing next in the pictures. You can read it over and over again, and always catch something new that's happening. For a mom who has to read the same story over and over again, this is a wonderful relief. I actually enjoy looking at this book every time I have to read it to my 2 year old son. We also act out the story, which amuses him to no end. June 9, 2006 Pigtail wagging cute We have two copies of this book, one we've had for 14 years now and we absolutely love this book! My children wanted this book read every night at bedtime for years, especially since at the end of the story we'd use our little piggies to "skip down their tummies and dance on their toes" just before their kiss goodnight. This short story is just delightful. The illustrations are wonderful and every time we'd read it we'd discover something new like, how the left hand smart piggy always has an item in his hand on one page that he'll use on the next page. Our original book has been taped repeatedly and my 16 yr old who got the book as a birthday gift when he was 2 still doesn't want to get rid of the book! It's like an old teddy bear. March 2, 2006 Available in lap-sized board book also! What can you add to such glowing reviews? I'd just like to share that you can now purchase this book in a lap-sized board book format. That's wonderful, as many people have pointed out that the detailed illustrations are better when viewed in the larger format. For those of us who want our babies and toddlers to enjoy unrestricted access to their books without cringing at the thought of the pages being ripped, the lap-size is the perfect solution! I'm finding more and more of these available now, including "The Napping House" and the bedtime favorite "Time For Bed." February 26, 2006 "Piggies" a hit with my toddler and preschoolers Wonderfully illustrated. Depictions of the piggies range from sweet to outrageous. Especially cute are the true-to-life drawings of a little child's fingers and toes. Cute book. December 30, 2005 Delightful Book! (comes with a bit of advice) I bought this book for my children and they love it from ages 18 mos to 4 years! The story is adorable, cute and funny and the illustrations are just about the best I've ever seen. However, because of that, I would hightly recommend not buying the board book as I have done. It is much too small to do the illustrations justice and you lose out on the fine detail of the drawings...I will be purchasing the larger book so that we can more fully enjoy the pictures.
