This is an excellent program to use with your preteen child. Several of us ladies took our daughters for a special weekend and went through the program together, doing the activities with them as a group, and it was a very special time. We all thought the book and CD set were excellent. November 3, 2008 Passport 2 Purity Excellent way to connect with your preteen! the Rainey's are so inspiring and led by the Lord...I highly recommend all of their books/products! It came in a very timely manner, which is greatly appreciated...thank you! September 5, 2008 Please, please read I have heard about this book way before we planned on starting a family. When I was pregnant I heard a broadcast on our local Christian radio station, and again felt God wanted me to read this when the time came. That time came during the summer of 2008. My oldest is 12. I went over the CD/book a few days before alone. I told my daughter that in a few days we were going to talk about things that havent been discussed before. We spent 2 hours going over this material. I was frightened, a little bashful but God got me threw it. THis was presented in a way that was understandable for my daughter. I am glad I purchased this material. August 18, 2008 Awesome! Passport to Purity is awesome. I have 3 daughters and have had the opportunity to do this with 2 of them so far.. You should make this a priority in your family. My girls and I had a great time and Dennis and Barbara Rainey took the pressure off me because they explained "it" to them. There was lots of laughing and some blushing going on this weekend but it was an awesome time to share what my husband and I want for our girls and they were accepting of it all! Thanks Barbara and Dennis Rainey, there is a special place in heaven for you!! July 30, 2008 Wonderful Weekend I highly reccomend this package. It was such a blessing and enjoyable to go through with my 11 year old. Be sure to do all the projects during the weekend...they add so much. I was a little confused when buying them if they were CDs or cassettes...so FYI they are CD's. July 20, 2008 Passport2purity I just got back from my weekend trip with my daughter. It was WONDERFUL! Excellent teaching and lots of fun for the two of us together. June 15, 2008 Awesome This is an excellent product that every parent should use to help guide their tweens into adulthood! April 25, 2008 Great teaching but... I had high hopes for this weekend based on reviews from others I know who have completed their weekend retreats with their daughters. Our weekend didn't go nearly as well as I had hoped, mostly because my daughter didn't want to talk afterwards (no discussion-bonding for us). Also, I didn't have time to read through the parent book and prepare properly. You really need to do this beforehand! The teaching is excellent once you get past the music. Barbara and Dennis Rainey present the material in such a straight-forward way that you just sit and listen and offer to answer any questions after. That's it. The projects that correspond to each session are creative and help to demonstrate the lesson learned. About the cd's: Barbara talks sort of soft so you may have to adjust the volume up and down depending on who's talking. The songs are awful! They grate on your nerves like a fingernails on a chalkboard. However, the music does what it needs to: presents Bible verses and gets them stuck in your head like a bad 80s song. But at least they are bible verses. They should be stuck in your head, right? I ended our "retreat" by giving my daughter a purity ring that she really loved. She didn't want to talk after any of the sessions. She was a little obstinate about it all, but I think that when I gave her the ring, she saw that this was important to me and I believe that what she heard she will think about, and possibly talk to me about later. Also, my girls (I plan to do this with each of them - even though the other two are stepdaughters) attend a private Christian school now, and they aren't being as bombarded with sexual issues and peer pressure as much. I am hoping this is preparing them for public high school. And when they get there, they may find that because of this weekend, they are comfortable coming to me with questions or concerns that they face. I highly recommend Passport2Purity to moms AND dads!! In fact, I would suggest getting the other parent involved at the end... maybe a special dinner together, presentation of a ring, etc. February 14, 2008 ISBN 1572296569 has CDs! Haven't used this material yet but just wanted to be helpful since Amazon customer service couldn't tell me whether this kit has tapes or CDs. ISBN 1572296569 is the kit with CDs, even though the description mentions tapes (and notes that the description is for a different edition). August 23, 2007 A must for every parent & teen! Comprehensive, professional and right on the money. This approach; with the teaching, story driven examples and hands on projects coupled with a weekend away to focus and play is unbeatable.
