User Submitted On the Night You Were Born ReviewsOctober 21, 2008 beautiful childrens book i bought this book for my grand children to tell them just how special they are October 18, 2008 Such a sweet story for a new grandchild I saw this book in Maine and thought i'd wait to get home and order it on Amazon as it was cheaper. I loved the story and how it was put together as my daughter had a beautiful baby girl three months ago and it is her first and last baby and the story just brought me to tears. She has already read it to her a couple times and I know she feels the same way. A very cozy , loving and sweet story for a new baby. I almost bought one for myself. I hope it inspires other Grandparents like it did me. September 18, 2008 This is a beautiful book I bought this book for my grandson's 3rd birthday which is coming up soon. I'm sure he will love it. I bought a different book for my Granddaughter about the night when she was born. I like this one much better. It is geared more toward the young child. September 8, 2008 A BEAUTIFUL MESSAGE EVERYONE NEEDS TO HEAR This book is for any parent who's head over heels in love with their little blessing! The message in this book is great. It reminds your child that they are a beautiful, wonderful, unique gift from God and that there never was and there never will be another child like them. My son received this as a gift for his 2nd birthday and we both LOVE it! It will be my "go to" book for any baby shower from now on! My son likes pointing out the different animals in the pictures and the loving words always bring a tear to my eye. In fact, I love it so much, I just bought the baby book The Wonder of You by the same author for my 6 month old. September 7, 2008 Two years later, this still brings tears to my eyes... This book was a gift from my mother in law to my daughter shortly after she was born. The first time I read it to her, it moved me so much that I could hardly finish. The story is simple, beautiful and still brings to me tears every time that I read it to my daughter. It is rare to find in someone else's words the complete expression of how much I love her and how happy I am that she was born into our family. The story tells how special the baby was to the world and how the earth celebrated her birth. The artwork is stunning, the words lyrical, and I can't think of a book that I enjoyed receiving more since my daughter was born. She's not old enough to enjoy it as much as she will later & we have to be careful of the paper pages so they don't rip as she helps me turn them. Regardless of that, it's a wonderful thing to read & express to your baby how special she is to you. September 6, 2008 Excellent Book, every child should have! This is a beautiful book & story! Every child should have it read to them over & over. Later in life they will remember the images and feel love, support & comfort. August 11, 2008 Charming book I have purchased this book several times for new parents and they have all loved it. The pictures are lovely and the words flow nicely. Very nice book to read aloud, starting when the baby can sit on your lap and listen. I predict you will love it if you buy it! August 8, 2008 Such a Treasure!! This book was given to me as a baby shower gift. Many nights before my daughter was born, I would sit in the nursery and read aloud "On the Night You Were Born". This book was one of the most important items packed in my hospital bag and the night our Ava Claire was born, my husband and I read it to her for the first time with tears streaming down our checks. Our Baby is now 7 months old and it still gives me chills. We plan to make it a tradition to read this book at bedtime on each birthday. I also have purchased several books to give to friends since it is such a wonderful gift that I will ALWAYS cherish! July 30, 2008 The most special book ever! This book is absolutely beautiful! It made both my husband and I cry (that doesn't happen often!). The words spoke to me as a mommy and the way I feel about my sweet baby. It also has beautiful illustrations. The dancing polar bears are my fave! You have to get this book!! July 25, 2008 A great book for any child to have! I first picked up this book at a book fair at a school I was working at recently. The beautiful artwork on the cover was what drew me in. As I opened the book and began to read I was very impressed with how beautiful the pages' illuistrations were. Even more beautiful were the poetic words the author uses to describe how one's name came to be "on the night you were born". I think that any child would love to hear this story before bedtime or even just cuddling with their parents. It makes the child feel special in knowing that this beautiful story describes how they came to be. As an artist I can really appreciate the illustrations that are so vibrantly painted upon each page. I would recommend this book from birth to upper elementary.
