Llama Llama Misses Mama Review
Strange new toys. Lots of kids and lots of noise! What would Llama like to do? It’s Llama Llama’s first day of preschool! And Llama Llama’s mama makes sure he’s ready. They meet the teachers. See the other children. Look at all the books and games. But then it’s time for Mama to leave. And suddenly Llama Llama isn’t so excited anymore. Will Mama Llama come back? Of course she will. But before she does, the other children show Llama Llama how much fun school can be! User Submitted Llama Llama Misses Mama ReviewsAugust 26, 2010 WONDERFUL WONDERFUL BOOK!!!! I checked this out from the library long before I knew I was going to put my 3 year old into preschool. He LOVED this book and we read it multiple time a day before it was due to return. Fast forward 3 months and I signed him up for school as we walked out of school he started quoting this book for me out of the blue! He remembered it, and said "don't worry mama will come back for you!" I have to say hands down the BEST book to read to your child and prepare them for preschool. I purchased the book after our experience and we read it almost daily! August 19, 2010 Good for Good-byes Nice book to read with young ones heading off to pre-school, kindergarten or daycare. Reminds children that a parent will come back to get them and that it's okay to have fun while they're at the new place. Fun rhyming, nice pictures. All around great book. July 19, 2010 This charmingly realistic story about a young child, Llama Llama, heading off to preschool for the first time is adorable! It was time to rise and shine. It was Llama Llama's first day of school and Mama had to "wakey, wakey" her little sleepyhead. He was snuggled under a quilt tucked into bed with his baby llama, but was soon up getting ready to go. The clothes were taken out of his bureau drawer, his teeth were brushed, a little honk honk into a tissue, and it was time for breakfast. Soon they were at school meeting the new teacher and being introduced to all the other boys and girls. Llama Llama's eyes widened and he clutched his baby llama close to his chest. Mama kissed him good-bye and a little shy boy was on his own. Everyone was busy having fun, but this scene didn't look all that hot. "Strange new teacher. / Strange new toys. / Lots of kids / and lots of noise." There were castles to be made, a chugga-choo to ride, but Llama Llama was simply NOT interested. All the boys and girls nestled around to listen to a story, but "Llama Llama hates that book." Soon it was time for lunch and he didn't want to eat. Where was his Mama? Was he ever going to get used to this strange place and all these kids? MAMA! This charmingly realistic story about a young child, Llama Llama, heading off to preschool for the first time is simply adorable. Anyone who has had to drop a child off at preschool or kindergarten will be able to relate to this story. It's not only difficult for the adult, but especially so for the child. Reading stories such as this one to young children can be a perfect preparation ploy and may help avert some of those first time away from Mama woes. The artwork expresses little Llama Llama's distress perfectly, especially when that lone tear begins to fall at lunch time. If you have a little Llama Llama who will be heading off to school soon, this is just the book you'll need to help with separation anxiety! July 12, 2010 love these books Bought this book for a friend's child who is about to start pre-k. My sons love this book and the others in this series. July 6, 2010 WONDERFUL BOOK!
