My favorite words in the story are on the "G" page: Gorgeous and Glamorous. My Mom says that I am gorgeous. The book says that so-in-so is glamorous. I also like the "D" word "Dapper." I told my Dad he was "diaper" today and he laughed. I had to show him the page so he would understand; that made him laugh more! I also like to say the "O" word "Ooh la la!" This is another way of saying something is fancy. This book makes me laugh. Parent's Comment: "Fancy Nancy's Favorite Words: From Accessories to Zany" by Jane O'Connor is a great idea for a book, endless possibilities; maybe the author will write more. Great illustrations of adorable little girls all dressed up. Lots of fun with vocabulary! August 25, 2008 Fancy Nancy stories don't let you down. My 3 1/2 year old was excited when she got it and a month later asks for it to be read. She loves learning new words so it made sense to buy a book that has the character she loves who also loves to learn the words within. August 13, 2008 Nancy's Favorite Fancy Words I bought this for my 4 year old granddaughter who is definitely a girly girl! She is also behind in her reading ability. The book cover's glitter is only a hint of all that shines inside this charmingly hilarious vocabulary book. The illustrations are as splendid as the words Nancy discovered to say the most ordinary things, raising them up to the level that will make you exclaim "Ooh la la!" Even the vocabulary review at the end of the book is presented in a charming and fascinating manner. This book is guaranteed to be one of your child's favorite books! My daughter loved it and is already using some of the words she learned in the book. June 16, 2008 Not That Great If You Own The Whole Nancy Series This book is nothing more than a collection of the words introduced in the Nancy books, and the illustrations are all taken from the same books. There is nothing new here. I feel this is a weak addition to the Nancy series. Had they used the same words, plus new words, and new illustrations it would be worth the purchase price. If you do not own any Nancy books buy it. If like my daughter you own them all, this is a waste. June 5, 2008 marvelous What a fun way to teach our kids fabulous new words.
