User Submitted Excuse Me!: A Little Book of Manners ReviewsAugust 9, 2008 Great for a two year old This is an adorable book. The fact that it teaches manners is an added bonus. To me, the importance is that my two year old granddaughter can "read" it herself. At first I thought she could just give me the answers to the questions and that was cute enough. But then I overheard her "reading" it to her baby doll. What great self confidence this builds in a toddler. It is the best time to start building self esteem and making a child feel "smart". August 1, 2008 1 1/2 year old's favorite book While I think the book will be terrific in a year to actually teach manners, at this point, my little guy is just entertained by the book. The pictures are simplistically expressive. He giggles every time we get to the second scenario (saying "Excuse me" when burping). He likes the participation of the turning pages. We typically end up reading this book 10 times a day, with my little fellow signing for more as I turn the last page.... June 19, 2008 What a wonderful world it would be if every child read this book! Just perfect for the Wee Ones. This little flap book shows the way to good manners without preaching. My daughter and I have been reading Karen Katz books together since she was able to sit up. This is an excellent addition to our collection! My daughter is now two-and-a-half, and she just LOVES the lift-a-flaps in these books. We have been working on manners, so this book is perfect. After reading these books a few times together, my daughter is able to read it back to me from memory, and she feels so proud when she finishes a book by herself. I highly recommend this and all of the Karen Katz books!! April 26, 2008 Teaches polite responses in a fun way A book-loving toddler will delight in lifting the full-page flaps and repeating the polite phrases--some in response to silly requests. I have received more "No thank yous" and "Yes pleases" since reading this book with my child. February 24, 2008 Really neat book! I bought this book for my 2 year old and he loves to read it as part of our bedtime routine. He is really good at saying please and thank you, not sure if this book is why, but I sure it had a hand in it, due to repeating the concepts over and over. February 15, 2008 Wrong item The book I recieved was not what I ordered. It's in the same series, so I kept it, but it's not what I ordered, and it took a very long time to arrive. Will not use this company again. February 8, 2008 Nice introduction to manners I really like this book and so does my 2-year old daughter. It is simple and short. She has started using the phrases that it introduces and it is so nice to hear her say "Thank You" and "I'm Sorry" without prompting. I recommend it as a good reminder tool for kids. February 1, 2008 missing page Listed as in good condition, the book they sent me has an entire page missing - a big deal when there's only 6 pages to begin with. Will not shop from them again. January 13, 2008 Perfect Introduction This is a perfect book to introduce manner's to little one's. My son loves the book. In fact, he will place his hand over mouth when he burps & say excuse me.
