Dynamic Physical Education for Elementary School Children (15th Edition) (Pangrazi Series) Review
User Submitted Dynamic Physical Education for Elementary School Children (15th Edition) (Pangrazi Series) ReviewsFebruary 25, 2006 Good text for new teachers This book has great listings of activities to do with kids, whether in the academic setting or a camp/child care setting. Fun games, exercises and other activities are easy to look up and have good directions. A solid textbook for new teachers. August 28, 2005 Dynamic Physical Education for Elementary School Children, 14th Edition This is an excellent aide in learning how to teach physical eduation to elementary school students. Pangrazi is an excellent author and essential information and helpful tips to teach physical education. Overall, this book is the most useful and I am definately not selling it back. July 6, 2005 Book recieved late It took so long to get it. My class only had 2 classes left. I didn't need this anymore. Linda Morgan June 25, 2002 Dynamic Physical Education I have used this book for two years now and found it helpful with lots of practical information. Implementing the lessons will require the lesson plans(not included) to fully utilize the contents of the book. This book is Sport based and Standards based. There are 36 weekly lessons which gives the program lots of structure. The author assumes you have enough space (indoor & outdoor) to teach the program. The cost of equipment can be high although there is a pretty good section on "How to make your own" equipment. I believe this book is a good resource, chapters are organized and mirror the weekly lesson plan book. September 28, 2001 Quality of Content. I have this book, and really think that it has a vast ray of information that helps the Physical Education Teacher prepare a developmentally appropriate Lesson. July 29, 2001 Belongs in every K-6 Teacher's Library Horrified as I am with the outrageous price of textbooks, I do everything I can to find books that are as affordable as possible for my students. I have looked and looked for a textbook or combination of textbooks that cover this material as effectively as Pangrazi does. This is the best book out there. There's more in this book than the average classroom teacher in a school with a PE Specialist is ever going to need, but any teacher building his or her library should have this reference on hand. Gone are the days when the classroom teacher organizes many playground games (in fact, recess is sadly disappearing altogether in our area)but the sections on the Instructional Process, Personal Health Skills, Program Implementation and Wellness are going to be useful references for any K-9 teacher for years. I'm pairing it with Interdisciplinary Teaching through Physical Education, (1998, Human Kinetics). Once you start looking around, you'll find that this book is actually a real bargain. August 10, 2000 I love this book! I love this book. I consider it my "Bible" of Elementary Physical Education. I have gone through many editions of it since my first copy which I bought during college 25 years ago. I have purchased and used many books over the years but consistanly go back to this one. No book comes close to the huge amount of practical information concerning daily, weekly, and yearly physical education for elementary students. I have encouraged many student teachers and new teachers to invest in this book as well as its companion book of lesson plans. With the lesson plan book, it will be all you need to begin and sustain a quality Physical Education program. May 12, 2000 Great Games - Good Philosophy - Useful Tool This book combines the professional, paedagogical side of physical education in the earlier chapters with a very valuable summary of games and sports, including rules and specifications of games. A nice touch is a listing of "lead-up" games for the major sports. I most recently used it to find the size and layout of a foursquare court for our playground. Colleagues use it for daily planning of their physical education lessons. Quite practical and a valuable asset to our professional collection.
