(Bright and Early Board Books Super-Sized Edition) ReviewsNovember 3, 2008 Love Dr. Seuss I actually really like this book because it not only gives you the letter, but also words that go with that letter. I read it to my son everyday hoping he is getting a taste for the english language and I'm sure it's helping. I loved Dr. Seuss as a kid and I hope my son does. October 22, 2008 not exactly what we were expecting When we saw this book on your website we were expecting to receive the full size book, when in fact we received the miniature version. Our kids still love the book, however we were expecting the larger size with more text. October 14, 2008 Make the book a little larger and include the original text! Should contain a warning that the original text has been edited--randomly and poorly. I'd been reading this to my 7-mo old but needed a board book as my baby is now trying to rip real pages. I'd seen a board book version but did not expect this version to have totally different words. Some rhymes are complete--and some are not. And whoever did the editing has no ear for rhyme or rhythm. The whole point of the book is the rhyme and rhythm! If the publishers had made the book a few pages longer and a few inches wider they could have fit in all of the text. I wish I'd read and heeded the one-star reviews but I was in too much of a hurry. August 11, 2008 Not one of my favorites, but baby likes it I have to say, I don't enjoy reading this book. I see in the reviews that there is a longer version, and I think I might like that more. This one just gets on my nerves. My son seems to really enjoy it, though. August 8, 2008 My son loves it! My 10 month old son loves having this read to him. He really responds to the colours and seems to enjoy the language. Its fun to read and it gets memorised very quickly. The board printing makes it very durable as Harry loves to turn the pages. July 14, 2008 A Great book to teach ABC's! I got this book because I wanted something that I could use to help teach my son his ABC's. I bought it when he was about 15 months and immediately he enjoyed the book. We would sing the song, read through the entire book, I'd point out the letters etc. I find this book a very helpful starting point for learning the alphabet, a fun way! One idea for younger toddlers, when I started we'd just read the letter and skip the other info on the page. This way the book was more managable for my toddlers short attention span. I have to say though, he really likes this book. Esp. when we first got it he'd literally sit down with the book and just flip through the pages. A++ July 12, 2008 Great Book! This book is perfect for a toddler learning their ABCs. My 2 year old loves the pictures and repeating all the words. Boardbooks are sturdy and great for toddlers....even though this is not exactly like the original, its still a great book. January 29, 2008 Love, love, love! A true classic! The cute rhymes as you teach your child(ren) the alphabet, only as Dr. Seuss can do! Very entertaining to the child as they learn and for the person reading it to them. It's not too wordy. A must have! December 6, 2007 I actually love this "revised version" I have an 18 month old who will not sit still for the original version but LOVES this one. She particularly likes its rhythm and repetition. Unlike the original, every letter begins with "Big "X", Little "x" what begins with "X"? She'll move her shoulder's back and forth in rhythm every time I say this sentence, waiting for the answer to follow. Young toddlers find that repetition comforting. . . if you want an example, how many times have the insisted on seeing their favorite movie? Nuff said. Get this book for a younger toddler and introduce them to reading. June 25, 2007 Fun and rhythmic book for young ones My daughter has loved this book since she was six months old.
