Christmas in Camelot (Magic Tree House, No. 29) Review
User Submitted Christmas in Camelot (Magic Tree House, No. 29) ReviewsJune 24, 2008 For the dreamer Ever wanted to escape into a book with a child and feel young again? This book combines fantasy and Christmas into one story that is something to treasure and share with someone young at heart. December 29, 2007 for grandchild I orderred this fpr my grandchild and they loved it. I personaaly haven't read it yet. But they say it is good. November 21, 2007 A Magical Christmas Story A wonderful adventure and an enchanting tale for the Christmas season, although this story can certainly be enjoyed at any time of the year. Once again, Mary Pope Osborne has done her own magic with book # 29 in her Magic Tree House series. How exciting for a child to travel to Camelot with Jack and Annie on their quest. The story is fun, scary, thrilling, and upbeat. It certainly held my grandson's interest from the beginning to the end. The illustrations by Sal Murdocca are beautifully done. They add so much to the total enjoyment of the book. Denise Hillman Moynahan The Great Cavern of the Winds: Tales from Backbone Mountain October 8, 2007 Book-Series Book arrived in a timely manner. Was suprised it didn't have a dust cover as that was not stated in advertisement. However, book was in good shape. September 26, 2007 Magic Treehouse Series The magic treehouse series has been and continues to be a wonderful series for my son. Educational and interesting, these books capture his attention and inspire his imagination. It is so rewarding to see your child be enthusiastic about reading stories and reading in general. I have and will continue to suggest these books to other parents. November 6, 2006 What happened? What happened? Magic Tree House series books 1-28 were great, with educational tales filled with historical relevance that used just enough magic to make the story work. Buy the complete set of 1-28! However, the Christmas book (#29) and apparently all the following books are pure magic, fantasy drivel with no redeeming qualities. Did Mary Pope Osborne hope to capitalize on the Harry Potter craze? (I'm basing this on heresay, since I haven't read Harry Potter.) I slogged thru this book, cringed and gagged thru #30, and made my wife read the next ones to my 5 year old. I'm going to tell him there aren't anymore, because they are too awful to buy and read. I very, very disappointed in what happened to this series. Please, please Mary Pope - get back to writing good stories and not this nonsense. November 4, 2006 Christmas in Camelot (Magic Treehouse #29) My [...] year old son absolutely loved this series. I had to read it to him, though. When I would stop reading for bedtime he would be so excited to know what came next he would always beg for just one more chapter. We are now rereading the books (he just turned 7). As his reading skills improve, he is beginning to pick out words and phrases as I read to him This book was on of the Merlin series and had a more magical component to it. There are Christmas references but it is definitely not a real "Christmas" story. It can be read any time of the year. The story is about a brother and sister Jack and Annie. They have a series of clues to get to quest which is given to them by the magician Merlin. You can read this book alone, but I would recommend reading some of the earlier ones in the series to get to know the characters. April 21, 2006 Winter of the Ice Wizard by Mary Pope Osborne kids review I liked this book because it had a lot of action. They had wolves that chased them and they also had winter storms. In this book they find two friends that help them. I would recommend this book for all boys and girls. March 28, 2006 Christmas in Camelot (Magic Tree House) I loved this book because it was about Camelot! I have been dreaming to atcually go there for years. I wish I could. It is a mith though. I liked the white stag in the book. I can't believe they got to ride on it! They must have had fun!! January 11, 2006 Anne Green This is the best book ! It is about a boy and girl that go on an adventure and go to a magic place. They go there to save Camelot! This book is for both boys and girls! YAY!!!!!!!!!!
