A Plump and Perky Turkey Review
Plump And Perky Turkey is a Marshall Cavendish publication. User Submitted A Plump and Perky Turkey ReviewsDecember 24, 2007 Must have Thanksgiving themed book! My son and I love this book! We have been reading it together since he was 2 (now 3) and he loves asking to read the Turkey Book, especially around Thanksgiving. The text flow is fun, the message is fun and I am certain you will love reading it too! October 24, 2007 Fun rhyming book--my two year olds love it! We checked this out from the library. It is a great book with wonderful rhythm and rhyme in the text. The pictures are full of interesting details and often quite funny. The story is cute and gets four thumbs up from my boy/girl twins. I'm picky about what books I purchase, but this one is going on my wish list today. September 7, 2007 Hysterical pictures and text! I think I almost enjoyed reading this more than my son did. I loved the pictures (good illustrations in a child's book are important to me) and it was really fun to read the rhyming text, which read really well and flowed nicely. I will look for more by this author. November 19, 2006 HILARIOUS!!! This is one of our family's favorite books. It's hilarious and we just love it. We give it as part of a kids' books starter library as a gift for a new baby. The parents appreciate it very much. November 9, 2006 Great Tempo! A Plump and Perky Turkey has a pleasingly poetic rhyme. This book is a blast to read aloud, but a little tricky the first time around. "They make turkeys out of spuds, and out of clay and out of rope. They made turkeys out of oatmeal, and out of paper, out of soap." That portion is my son's favorite. It's repeated three times in the story, but he laughs every time. I'm not sure if it's the words that amuse him so, or the illustrations. The pages are soaked in oranges, browns, and golden tones, thus one certainly gets the idea that autumn is in the air. Shelly has a cartoonish style, in that the images are accentuated with thick, dark lines. The artwork is humorous, and rich in details. The book doesn't offer an age recommendation, but I'd say it's geared to children 3 to 7-years. November 21, 2003 A Wonderful Whimsical Book I absoultely love this book. I am asked repeatedly to read this book to my 3 children ages 8, 5, and 18 months. They really enjoy the rhymes and the illustrations. As a rather finicky mom, I can whole heartedly recommend this book!! It is so fun to read. November 25, 2001 Pleasingly Plump and Perky! Grammy got this for my kids and they LOVE it. The story is goofy, which appeals to my preschooler and first grader both. They love looking for Pete on the end papers, and at the website. Talk about fun! The rhymes are great for my first grade reader, and fun to listen to also. The colourful pictures and meter of the text hold my one year old's attention as well. A great all around family book!
